RECOGNIZING THE HATER IN YOU

If you post photos or messages that promote hatred then you are a hater.  If you share photos of abused women, dogs, or other living beings then you are promoting hate.  The definition of hate, per The American Heritage Dictionary reads as, “To feel animosity or hostility towards. To detest.  To feel dislike or distaste for.”  The word hateful is defined as, “Arousing hatred; detestable.  Feeling or showing hatred; malevolent.”

So if you consider yourself a good Christian, Muslim, or any other God like individual, you shouldn’t be posting or verbally promoting ideas that stir hatred in the hearts of others.  Teachers such as Jesus, Buddha and Muhammad were all about the love.  Love is the opposite of hate.  Love defined is an expression of one’s affection.  Excuse me for taking the simple minded approach to this subject, but there seems to be a major lack of love these days.

Take for instance the U.S. Presidential Election. I see more Facebook post that slam candidates than those that simply state their choice of which nominee they support.   You know, it is possible to promote your favorite Presidential Candidate without hating on another, right?

When we degrade another person, we disrespect ourselves.  All we end up doing is dividing ourselves from the whole; we stand outside the circle.  I don’t know about you, but I feel much better focusing on what it is that I love about someone, instead of focusing on what I dislike or hate about them.    There’s good and evil in all of us.  As the Native American story goes, there are two wolves battling each other inside of us all. One wolf is angry, envious, jealous, guilty, greedy, regretful, sorrowful, self-pity; the other wolf is joy, peace, love, hope, truth, compassion, faith.   The wolf or the side that wins is the side that you feed.  Do you feed the love within you, or do you feed the hate within you?

Personally, I like being loved. Not saying that I would bend or break for attention, but to be loved regardless of our differences.  I don’t really like it when people hate me, because it kind of deters me from wanting to live.  So imagine how your negative opinion of someone can offend another.  When you belittle a candidate, not only are you hating on that nominee, you hate on a favored representative of someone else.  And yes, they tend to take your opinion personally, because it fosters anger and hatred.  Don’t understand yet?  Then tell me how you feel when someone slams a candidate that you like?

People are people.  We all want the same basic human rights.  Treat others as you would want to be treated.  And here’s another – don’t have anything good to say, then don’t say anything at all.  Stop and think before allowing that thought to flow from head to hand, or from head to mouth.  If not to make the world a better place to live, then to make life a little easier for yourself.

The Law of Attraction is a concept of science, as well as new age thought.  As defined by Wikipedia, “a phrase used to describe the perceived nature of bodies that have a tendency to attract or repel each other.”

In other words, if show love, you attract love.  Talk hate, repel love.   So do yourself a favor that will benefit the rest of the world too, and recognize the hater within you.  Acknowledge it, change it, live it.  And may peace be with you.
