FORGIVNESS AFFIRMATIONS by Louise Hay

“You have a choice.  You can choose to stay stuck and bitter, or do yourself a favor by willingly forgiving the past and let it go.  And then move on to create a joyous fulfilling life.  You have the freedom to make your life anything you want it to be, because you have freedom of choice.” – Louise Hay

Daily affirmations are short positive declarations intended to change or affirm a belief.    Repeat an affirmation often and eventually the subconscious mind will accept that affirmation as truth.  Write affirmation(s) out on little post it notes and stick them to the mirror.  Look yourself in the eye and repeat them.

The door to my heart opens inwards.

I move through forgiveness to love.

As I change my thoughts, the world around me changes.

The past is over, so it has no power now.

The thoughts of this moment create my future.

It is no fun being a victim; I refuse to be helpless anymore.

I claim my own power.

I give myself the gift of freedom from the past and move with joy into the now.

There is no problem too big or too small that it cannot be solved with love.

I am ready to be healed, I am willing to forgive, and all is well.

I know that old negative patterns no longer limit me; I let them go with ease.

As I forgive myself, it becomes easier to forgive others.

I forgive myself for not being perfect; I am living the very best way I know how.

It is now safe for me to release all my childhood traumas and move into love.

I forgiver everyone in my past for all perceived wrongs; I release them with love.

All of the changes in life that lie before me are positive ones, and I am safe.

THE BIOLOGY OF BELIEF – Harnessing the Power of the Human Mind

Thought is a vital creative force that moves. It is infectious, and it changes rapidly. Sometimes it can be hard to keep up with your thoughts, because they move so fast. The body is a product of the mind. Good positive thoughts can keep you healthy, and bad negative thoughts will bring you sickness and disease.

In his book, “The Biology of Belief,” Bruce Lipton, PhD (at page 112-113) gives an example of how the nocebo effect (opposite of the placebo effect; thinking you have a disease when you don’t) can feed into an unjustified belief.

In1974, Nashville physician, Clifton Meador, had a patient named Sam Londe, who was a retired salesman with esophagus cancer. The disease back at that time was considered fatal. Londe ended up dying about three weeks later, to no ones surprise. The surprise came after Londe’s death, at which time the autopsy found a small amount of cancer in Londe’s body; there was a spot on his lung and one or two on his liver, but not enough to kill him. Most importantly though, there was no esophagus cancer. Not a trace. Three decades later, and Dr. Meador is still haunted by Londe’s death. Meador told the Discovery Channel, “He died with cancer, but not from cancer. I thought he had cancer, he thought he had cancer, everyone around him thought he had cancer. . . did I remove hope in some way?”

And here’s an example of Lipton's work (at page 109) that goes to prove that the placebo effect doesn’t only apply to pills. Published in the New England Journal of Medicine, in 2002, a study lead by Dr. Bruce Moseley, of Baylor School of Medicine, in which Moseley divided his knee surgery patients into three groups. In the first group, Moseley shaved the damage cartilage in the knee. The second group, Moseley simply flushed out the knee joint. And in the third group, he conducted a fake surgery. The “fake surgery” patients were sedated, the standard incisions were made; he splashed water to stimulate the sound of the knee washing and talked and acted like he would, if he had truly done the surgery. All three groups were given the same post surgery instructions. And guess what?

The placebo group improved right along with first two groups. This study was prompted by the question of which surgery was actually giving Moseley’s patients the most relief from their pain. Lipton quotes Moseley as saying, “My skill as a surgeon had no benefit on these patients. The entire benefit of surgery for osteoarthritis of the knee was the placebo effect.”

Bruce Lipton who wrote the book “The Biology of Belief,” is a cell biologist, and at one time a professor at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine.  He later performed pioneering studies at Stanford University.  He is recognized for bridging science and spirituality.

Through his research and others, it has been proven that thought will reproduce what you believe.  The mind is not a physical object, it is intelligence.  Our bodies are containers full of energy.  The thought will manifest itself in the physical world.  What it can not express outside the body, it will express inside the body.  That’s one reason why it important to keep your thoughts positive.

An easy way to train your mind is with the use of affirmations.  It means to affirm; to make firm; to make strong.  The practice of affirming allows us to replace the negative mind chatter with positive thoughts.  In general, affirmations are positive statements; affirm what you want, instead of what you do not want.  And they should always be made in the present tense, as if it already exists.  Here are some examples:

·         I release all that does not bring me joy

·         I am a radiant being filled with love and light

·         Every day in every way I’m getting better and better

·         My life is blossoming in total perfection

·         I am vibrantly healthy

·         Infinite riches are now freely flowing into my life

·         The light within me is creating miracles in my life here and now

The most effective affirmations are short and sweet.  Say them to yourself silently or verbally aloud.  You can write it on a piece of paper.  Use your name (Kelly is a radiant being filled with love and light; Kelly, you are a radiant being filled with love and light; I Kelly am filled with love and light).  Repeat this process a few times through out your day.

And when you roll out of bed in the morning, instead of saying, “Oh my back,” say, “I feel good and refreshed.”

You’re simply changing your perspective.  It really does make a difference in your life in regards to your health, and how you feel about yourself as well as others. Here’s an example of how your thoughts can affect others.

One morning on my way to work, a car cut me off like three times!  At first I had a few choice words for the driver, but then I caught myself and began to say in my mind, “I’m sorry sister, I didn’t mean to call you a ________, and say all of those other mean things.”

When we pulled up to the next stop light, she was beside me.  She rolled her window down and said, “I’m sorry for cutting you off.  I’m just running a little behind, and I apologize.”

I couldn’t help but smile at her. “That’s ok,” I said, “I’ve been there before myself; I understand.”

Talk about Karma!  People usually use the word Karma in a negative aspect, but it works both ways.  If you put positive thoughts out there, then positive things will come to you.

So clean up your thoughts and make the world a better place to be.  Believe & Be the Change!

CREATIVE VISUALIZATION – ACHIEVING YOUR HEARTS DESIRE

When I was a kid, about thirty years ago, I seen a young man on television that had beaten lung cancer by sitting near a waterfall and visualizing the water washing away the cancer.  The cancer disappeared.  He basically healed himself.

Creative visualization is a meditative technique to create what it is you want in life.  All you need is to use your natural ability to imagine or picture what it is you seek; like love, or healthy relationships, good health, prosperity, harmony, whatever your heart desires.

For example, say you’re a football player.  Before the game, you sit in silence for twenty minutes, and focus on a clear image.  You’re a wide receiver, you are running down the field, and you see yourself with your arms open, as if to catch the ball.  Focus on that image.  Then imagine it happening now (not in the future, but in the present).  You’re running down the field waiting for the ball to arrive, and now you have your hands on the ball, tucking it away, so no one can steal it.  There’s nothing between you and the goal line.  ‘TOUCHDOWN!”   And the crowd goes wild!  Now affirm your vision and make it yours.

Not long ago, I was driving in heavy traffic.  I had just got off from work.  And I thought to myself, if I’m not verbally being offensive to anyone on the road, does it really matter what I think about that person?  Instead of saying, “You Asshole,” I simply thought, you asshole.

A short time later, I was introduced to a Creative Visualization class, where I learned to understand the Law of Attraction.  This is the principle that what we attract in our lives is whatever we think about, especially if it is heartfelt, or thought of often.  In other words, thought precedes manifestation. What you think will happen, will most likely occur.

So not only was my question answered by some kind of divine intervention, but it is also a great example of how the Law of Attraction works.

Thought moves fast.  I’ve asked a question before in my mind, and was presented an answer to it within seconds, through a sign in nature.  When this happens, I immediately turn to awareness to my last thoughts.  And I can’t always remember them either.  That’s because thoughts race through the mind constantly, which is why it is important to quiet the mind and focus on what it is you truly want out of life.

Try this, the next time before you pull into a busy parking lot, picture an empty parking space closest to the door.  Affirm that thought, you know there is a parking space by the door waiting for you.  You are a good person, and you deserve that front row parking spot.

Even once you pull into the parking lot, and someone else is turning down the same row as you, know in your heart and hold onto the thought, that there will still be a parking spot for you near the door.

I do it all the time.  It works more often than not.  I’ll usually thank Spirit afterwards as well.

Sometimes I’ll use Creative Visualization, when my other half has been uptight and irritable. I’ll visualize her in a white light happy and joyful.  I found that this works as well.  Even though the technique does not control the behavior of others, it does allow everyone to manifest in their most positive aspect.

So when you come across a stranger, don’t be so judgmental.  Because if you see only the negative in a person, then that behavior will most likely be reflected back at you from that individual.

Think good thoughts.  The mind is powerful tool.  And it is important that we learn to control our thoughts and use them wisely.  Positive thoughts will make a positive life, in contrast to negative thoughts which will manifest themselves in a negative fashion.

Try it, and please come back and comment, and let me know how Creative Visualization has assisted you in your life's journey.
