Love, Abundance & Gratitude

It is said that when we fall in love, we fall in love with the world as well.  We’re floating on a cloud and nothing matters more than that happiness high.  When our hearts overflow, with all that love, all most nothing can bring us down.  Even so, if some misfortune was to occur, we find comfort in our new found love.

But you say, after the years begin to add up, love fades.

I say to you, that love only seems to fade when we quit thanking the Creator for that love.  Nothing appreciates without gratitude.

Now don’t get me wrong, in the physical world, the word appreciate often refers to an increase in value, and gratitude is nothing more than money.  But in the spiritual world, gratitude is appreciation; an appreciation for happiness, love, and companionship.  Notice money isn’t mentioned in this quest for love and acceptance.

Money is nothing more than a creation of man; a façade traded for survival.  There is nothing spiritual about it, and if we were truly living as God/Love intended, then there would be no use for money. The spiritual path intended is one where we rely on each others strengths for survival.  Before money was ever invented, we relied on our skills and traded items of necessity.

The word abundance is often related to financial gain; it means excess.  I try hard to understand this concept of wanting more, but to want more is to say I am unhappy with what I have.  Where’s the gratitude?

Gratitude is not wanting more, it’s being happy with what we have.  Like the word gratitude, man attached a monetary value to the word abundance, and its spiritual meaning was lost long ago.  I believe abundance is the expression of the love and gratitude that we generate that in turn radiates all about us.

I say this because when I stand on my back porch in the summer, and I see all the green leafy plants surrounding me, and all the life dancing around and flying above, the word abundance is what I feel.  So much life everywhere!  I am abundantly grateful.

In the end, money can’t buy you love, but gratitude can feed you all the love you will ever need.

Who am I Today?

Who am I today?
Am I your friend or am I your adversary?
Which face shall it be?
Will I light you up with love.
Or be shadow firm, fist first,
And not bend or break under any terms?

The question is simple.  The answer lies in how you view the people with whom you interact through out your day.    If you expect someone to be hostile towards you, then that is most likely the behavior that will be presented. But, if you view others as loving caring beings then the coin is flipped and loving and caring beings they shall be.

It all boils down to the power of our thoughts, and the way we perceive any given person or situation.  Not only do we have the power to shape our worlds into reality, but we also have the ability to distinguish the thoughts of others.

And of course, we are more than glad to fulfill our roles that others have perceived, because it’s that damn easy to follow the flow along the path that was laid out before us.  It’s a two way street.  We are either playing a part of another’s reality or setting up the scene for our own lifetime movie.

Yet, if we are viewing people in a positive manner, then we are also changing how others view us; our part in their story changes as well.    This is why it is said that the change you want to see begins with you.

Do not disregard this information because you tried it a few times and it didn’t seem to work for you.  Keep at it.  Give it time.  There’s a lot of bad that we have generated in this world, and it is going to take a lot of good to change it.

Much Love ~

Forgiving God

In the bible it says that God gave mankind the freedom to choose.  This choice when you get right down to it is a choice of good or evil.  So when you hear someone say that God does not exist because a loving God would not create all this death and destruction that we are seeing in this world, remember that mankind resides on Earth, where choices are being made everyday.

God did not create the chaos, we did.  If fluttering wings can create the wind, then why would it be so hard to believe that our thoughts and actions can spread, causing pain and suffering in others?

Anger, hate, jealousy, greed, revenge, envy, arrogance, resentment, superiority, self pity can all spread like wild fire.  Flipping someone the bird for cutting you off at a stop light, turns into a husband coming home and yelling at his kids for being child like, that in turn becomes a child bulling another at school, and so on and so forth.  Then we scratch our heads wondering why more kids are bringing guns to school.

But don’t blame God for this world He created.  It’s the world that you and I created!  Change begins by changing yourself.  And if hate can spread, so can love.

Yet hating on other people seems to come easy to us humans.  I believe it is because love requires the act of forgiveness, and forgiveness isn’t always that easy.  I know everyone reading this can feel me on that one.

You would think it would be the other way around though; easier to love than to hate; because everyone likes to be loved and accepted.  Who truly wants to feel sad and mad all the time?

When we refuse to forgive someone, and we hold onto that hurt, it in turn decreases the love we are generating.  It’s like hanging a heavy wet towel on your shoulders; it feels heavy and weighs you down, except it is our spirit that carries the weight when we do not forgive others.  We have to release the hurt.

So, instead of blaming God for the world as it is today, look within yourself.  If you want to see a change, then begin by forgiving yourself.

There’s an ancient Hawaiian practice called Ho’oponopono, which means to make right.  You create a mental picture of the person you need to forgive in your mind, and from your heart you say, “I am sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you.”

You can say it in any order. You don’t even have to talk directly to the person who caused you pain, but you can forgive them in your mind and in your heart.

And while we are forgiving those with whom we interact, we can also practice Huna when we see a shooter on the nightly news, who takes out a movie theater, because we need to take responsibility for our actions.  Face it, we can all be assholes at one time or another and for every action there is a reaction (it spreads).  And if our actions spread, then we most certainly need to ask for forgiveness due to those actions contributing to that shooters state of mind.  Of course we can all ask for forgiveness from the victims as well.  We all contributed to that hurt and anger that caused their deaths.

Think about it.  Practice forgiveness and watch our world transform.  I dare you to be so brave as to show some love by forgiving everyone you want to blame for making your day impossible. Try and it and then tell me what tomorrow was like.

Your light shines brighter and you restore your power when you forgive.  Peace be with you all.

What is a Truth Seeker?

A truth seeker is a spiritual individual reaching beyond the common wisdom of mortal men.  They look within themselves for the answers that the mind questions.  A truth seeker is like a vine that reaches for the sky; as it grows it builds the new upon the old; always changing and reaching for a deeper understanding, as symbolized by a spiral.

Some people refer to truth seekers as new age thinkers.  But really, there is nothing new to seek.  You’ll find books upon their shelves in regards to healing, self awareness, dreams, religion and so on, but these are not new ways of being.  The knowledge is ancient.  The only thing that is new is the awareness of the subject.

Therefore, truth is merely a perspective.  This is why every man’s truth differs from another.  This is the wisdom of the truth seeker.

Herbal Remedies for Diabetes

In 2010, diabetes was the 7th leading cause of death in the United States, as reported by The American Diabetes Association.  29.1 million Americans were reported to have diabetes in 2012.  1.4 million new cases are diagnosed every year in the United States.  The statistics are alarming.  www.diabetes.org/diabetes-basics/statistics/

1 in 4 American’s don’t even know they have diabetes.  86 million adults have pre-diabetes, where blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough to qualify as diabetic.  That’s 1 in 3 American’s.   www.cdc.gov/Features/DiabetesFactSheet/

Ginseng (root) reduces cholesterol, as well as blood sugar.  Siberian ginseng, also known as “eleuthero” or “adaptogen” is also used for hardening of the arteries and rheumatic heart disease.  It’s an antioxidant and an immune system stimulant that improves memory and energy levels.  But it does contain chemicals that can slow blood clotting and may increase risk of bleeding and bruising for people with these types of blood disorders.  Do not give to children. You can read more at:

Uva Ursi leaves are also good in combating diabetes.  It is primarily used for urinary disorders, but it should not be used in large quantities during pregnancy due to restriction of circulation to the uterus.  Do not take in high does or for a long period of time; it contains a chemical that can damage the retina of the eye by thinning it.  It is also recommended that you do not give this herb to children.  You can read more at:

Burdock Root provides an abundance of iron and insulin giving it a special value to the blood.  It is also a good diaphoretic that clears the kidneys of excess waste and uric acid, by increasing the flow of urine.  The seeds are great for kidney diseases as a tincture or extract. Jerusalem Artichokes are a vegetable that resemble a small potato, and can be used to decrease or eliminate the use of insulin for people suffering from diabetes.  And they don’t taste bad either.  For detailed information, visit:

Cinnamon is a spice that lowers blood sugar as well as blood pressure.  It can reduce insulin resistance as well.  Cinnamon can also lower your bad cholesterol (LDL), while raising good cholesterol (HDL).  But not just any Cinnamon will work.  Cinnamomum verum is the type of cinnamon you want to shop for.  It is an expensive cinnamon that is often substituted with the cheaper cinnamomum cassia.  You can read more at:

Green tea can reduce a number of heart related issues, including high blood pressure and congestive heart failure.  It can lower your cholesterol and improve your blood overall.   It can even stabilize diabetes, and reduce your blood sugar levels.
Green tea can boost your metabolic rate encouraging weight loss.  The tea is caffeinated, but not as much as coffee, which may be the factor that contributes to weight loss and increased energy.
Green tea is an excellent source for antioxidants, which can reduce your chances of contracting cancer.
Green tea can reduce the risk of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease.
Never boil green tea!  Do not put milk in your tea; it can reduce the antioxidants contained within the tea.  Read more at:

Get Your Party On!

Healing incorporates the mind, body and spirit.  There is no pill for the spirit, but there is music.   And nothing is more therapeutic than listening to music.  This ancient practice feeds the soul, and heals the spirit.  Whenever we are facing a healing crisis, music should be included.

As preventative medicine music relieves stress; and stress can cause us just as much harm as eating fast food on a daily basis.  Music can ease depression, or set the mood for a romantic date.  As a real estate agent, I have used music to prepare a house for showings.

Music promotes exercise and stimulates the brain cells. So not only are you healing the spirit, but the mind and body as well.  The type of music isn’t a factor, although a positive vibe is most certainly important.  So go get your groove on!

BEATING A HANGOVER
Here’s a remedy to keep from getting a hangover.  Alcohol kills the vitamin B in the body that causes the hangover affect.  Get a bottle of B-100’s, Take one before you begin drinking.  Then take one a little later, while you are drinking.  And before you go to bed take a third pill.    I have done this several times in my younger days, and it works; no hangover!
(Earl Mindells Vitamin Bible—1991)

THE BENEFITS OF  WINE
Wine can reduce the risk of heart attacks and other cardiovascular diseases.  According to Swedish researchers wine, when consumed in moderation, can decrease your chances of dying at an early age by one third.  Wine increase blood flow while lowering the risk of blood clots.  In addition, a glass or two a day will significantly  boost HDL (good cholesterol), while keeping LDL (bad cholesterol) from harming the body.  Wine can also slow the growth of breast cancer, as well as prostate cancer cells.

And women, wine can cut your risk of osteoporosis  In a 2000 report in the American Journal of Epidemiology, woman who drank one to three glasses of wine had greater bone marrow density; more than non-drinkers or heavy drinkers.  And this information applies to men as well.

So here’s to your health!

THE BENEFITS OF EATING MEXICAN FOOD

I am often bothered by this talk of putting up fences along the Mexican boarder. Some of us fight so hard to keep the Mexican people out of our country, yet we enjoy the food, and the festivities that our neighbors to the South bring to the table

Whenever I find myself not feeling well, especially after a visit in the hospital, I go directly to Taco Rock to get my energy back on.  For me, spicy Mexican food has always felt good to my body.  I crave it when I’m feeling under the weather.   A lot of my friends think I’m crazy.

“Damn girl, they just cut you open and operated on your intestines!  How can you eat  that? Man, you’re gonna mess yourself up!”

But apparently I’m not the only one who seeks out good Mexican food when they’re sick.  The Taco Rock management told me that someone else had recently visited their establishment bragging about the healing qualities of Mexican food.

So I did a little digging and found out that spicy foods are among the best for your health.  Peppers contain capsaicinoids which gives peppers their heat.  Most capsaicin properties are found in the inner white membrane of the pepper.

There is evidence that capsaicin suppresses the growth of prostate cancer cells while leaving normal cells unharmed, and it lowers blood pressure by activating the release of nitric oxide.

In addition, capsaicin can assist in weight loss, lowers your cancer rate, is good for your heart, can improve your sex life, and relieves pain, by working as an anti-inflammatory.

Jalapeno peppers can provide relief from migraine headaches, relieve congestion, and they contain high amounts of vitamins A and C.  They are accredited to strengthening blood vessels by making them more elastic and better able to adjust to changes in blood pressure.

It is believed that Cayenne pepper is the most valuable herb of all.  Not only does it increase the effectiveness of other herbs when used, but it also good for the entire digestive system.

It has been said that one teaspoon of cayenne pepper in cup of hot water can stop a heart attack in three minutes.  It is further suggested to give a teaspoon of extract every fifteen minutes in a glass of hot water, if a heart attack should occur.

There is even a story circulating of how a man found dead in his car of an apparent heart attack, was given a cayenne tincture into the mouth, and within a few minutes the man’s heart began to beat again.

It is suggested that a regimen of cayenne and hawthorn berries will strengthen the heart and possibly prevent a heart attack.

Cilantro is another common ingredient found in Mexican food, and it too has amazing healing capabilities.  It is a strong anti-oxidant that can prevent cardiovascular damage.  It also assists in sleep quality, and has been shown to have anti-anxiety effects.

Cilantro is linked to lowering blood sugar as well.  The School of Life Science in India noted that cilantro leaves and stems, “If used in cuisine would be a remedy for diabetes.”

Cilantro is well known for cleansing the body of toxic metals.  It binds to the metals and loosens them from the tissue.  People with mercury poisoning have reported a reduction in symptoms when taking cilantro regularly.

Cilantro is said to help those with Alzheimer’s disease by limiting the neuronal damage in the brain.

The herb is also a natural diuretic and great for those suffering from kidney stones.

And not only should you include the leaves and stems in you diet, but the seeds (referred to as coriander seeds) also contribute to the health benefits of cilantro.   The seeds are known to lower blood sugar; and they lower LDL (bad cholesterol) and increases HDL (good cholesterol) at the same time.

My body told me that Mexican food was healthy for me, before I even did the research.  Of course, afterwards I was ecstatic by what I had discovered.  I plan to include cilantro among my favorite teas, and carry a small bottle of cayenne tincture in my medicine bag for now on.

Much love to my sisters and brothers south of the boarder!  Life would be a lot less enjoyable without you – for sure!  And thank you for the many blessings you bring.
