RUNNING WITH A GUN & DEALING WITH THE LAW

When I lived in California in the mid to late 80’s, I use to carry a gun, due to the massive highway shootings at that time.  When I relocated to Columbus, Ohio, I came across  drivers so rude that I had to quit carrying my weapon, because I was too scared I was going to shoot someone out of anger.  It happens all the time!  I was becoming one of those people I was originally trying to protect myself from to begin with.

Enter the law, the universal law of attraction.  No one can outrun the law of attraction.  Just like no one can deny the law of gravity.  It is what it is.  Simply put, what you think, you in turn manifest.  Like a magnet to metal, except you are the magnet, and the thought is the metal.

When Jesus said, “Live by the sword, die by the sword,” he was speaking about the law of attraction.  The late great Muhammad Ali understood; he said, “What you are thinking about, you are becoming.”

Let me break it down for you.  When you carry a weapon for protection, your thoughts are saying, “Hey, I need this gun for protection.”  Therefore you are manifesting a need to be protected.  In turn, in order to feel protected, there is a need for someone to threaten you.  So the universe (God, Jesus, Buddha, whatever you call him/her), which will provide for all our needs, will oblige your request.

Which brings me to the subject of fear, fear is what prompted me to carry a gun in the first place.  Fear driven emotions cause us to do stupid things, like supporting a war for nothing more than to take control of a nation’s resources (Iraq/Oil); the government used the fear of weapons of mass destruction to gain American support to invade Iraq.  As a result, TSA was a fear driven decision, and so was the National Defense Authorization Act that allows any American citizen to be detained indefinitely, and we waived our constitutional freedoms due to our fear of terrorism.  What one fears, one destroys.

Muhammad Ali understood the concept of fear when he said, “It isn’t the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it’s the pebble in your shoe.”  When Ali was referring to the pebble, he was speaking of fear; the fear we tell ourselves when we say we can’t do it, or it’s too hard, I’ll never be able to finish; feeding those negative thoughts, instead of nourishing positive thoughts of accomplishment.

This is not an argument for gun control.  But this is a statement as to why we as a nation find ourselves confronted with all of these gun assaults in our schools (places of higher learning) and now in our nightclubs, where we go to have fun and let loose of our worries for a moment.  And not in just any nightclub, but a “gay” nightclub; like rainbow people are a threat.  But apparently to the shooter they were a threat.

Why would he fear gay people?  Most likely he was dealing with issues regarding his own sexuality, and he feared he might be gay.  A lot of people who are dealing with stepping out of the closet deal with anger, it’s a fact.  I know, because I am a lesbian – been there, done that.

For God sakes, our children are growing up scared of the world.  Instead of pumping more fear into them, we should be nourishing them with love and all those other positive attributes, like confidence, bravery and honor.  Teach them to stand tall, without fearing for their lives or what others may think of them.

Whenever you find yourself getting angry ask yourself, “What am I afraid of?”  Realize your fear, but don’t allow your fear to own you.  Change the manner in which you think.  Instead of walking out of your house with a gun strapped to your side, walk out with a smile on your face, and an attitude of helping others in need.

Try some daily affirmations like, “I have no fear, just love,” or “Everyone I meet is friendly and supportive,” or “I am confident and will not allow the judgment of others to bring me down,” or “I can climb that mountain.”  These affirmations work.  You won’t know until you try.

Change the way you think and you will change what it is that you are attracting to you.  Live a peaceful life and you will find peace.  If you’re judgmental of others, they will judge you.  Or live in fear and attract fear.  It’s up to you.

JERUSALEM ARTICHOKES & HEALING DIABETES, by EDGAR CAYCE

Jerusalem artichoke is a vegetable which resembles a small potato.  It is available from some health food stores.

Jerusalem artichoke is a primary therapy in the Cayce approach to diabetes.  The readings state that the Jerusalem artichoke can be used to decrease or eliminate the need for medicinal insulin.

Therapeutic recommendations for Jerusalem artichoke will vary from person to person depending upon the severity of the condition.  For one individual with a slight tendency toward diabetes, the recommendation was to eat two Jerusalem artichokes per month.  For more severe cases, one per day prescribed.  For persons diagnosed with diabetes, starting out at three per week is reasonable.  After monitoring blood/sugar levels, the amount of artichoke's can be adjusted as needed.

Here are some suggestions for to using Jerusalem artichoke:
  • Before eating the artichokes, have at least two or three spinal manipulations to stimulate the nerve supply to the pancreas and liver.  Ask the physician or therapist to pay particular attention to the 5th - 9th thoracic vertebrae.
  • Begin by eating three artichokes about the size of a hen's egg each week.
  • In preparing the artichoke, alternate between eating one raw and the next one cooked in its own juices (steamed in Patapar parchment paper).  Eaten raw, the artichoke can be included in a salad or such.  When cooked, be sure to drink the water in which the artichoke was cooked.
  • Do not overcook or undercook.  Do not peel, - only wash thoroughly with a brush, then cook it in Patapar Paper - as if cooking an Irish potato.  Season with a little salt, and at times a very small quantity of butter.
  • If possible, store the artichokes in the ground.  Otherwise, you may be able to keep them in the refrigerator in a jar of peat moss or potting soil.  The readings state that just leaving them in the refrigerator deprives them potency.
  • Various readings advised against eating pickled artichokes or artichokes prepared with vinegar, and products made with artichoke flour.

WHO IS EDGAR CAYCE?

Edgar Cayce (pronounced Kay-Cee, 1877-1945) has been called the "sleeping prophet," the "father of holistic medicine," and the most documented psychic of the 20th century. For more than 40 years of his adult life, Cayce gave psychic "readings" to thousands of seekers while in an unconscious state, diagnosing illnesses and revealing lives lived in the past and prophecies yet to come.

Nearly seventy percent of the more than 14,000 psychic readings Cayce gave are concerned with the diagnosing of disease and the outlining of treatment. These readings are still being studied in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Many people who came to Cayce in the early part of the twentieth century came to him as a last resort: most had been diagnosed as "incurable", not only by private physicians, but by renowned medical institutions around the U.S. While Cayce himself had no medical training or education, when he entered a self-induced altered state, his unconscious mind seemed to tap an endless reservoir of helpful physical information. He could accurately diagnose illness and prescribe treatment for people he had never met or seen.

Further details of Cayce's life and work are explored in the classic book, There Is a River (1942), by Thomas Sugrue, available in hardback, paperback, or audio book versions, or visit www.edgarcayce.org

RECOGNIZING THE HATER IN YOU

If you post photos or messages that promote hatred then you are a hater.  If you share photos of abused women, dogs, or other living beings then you are promoting hate.  The definition of hate, per The American Heritage Dictionary reads as, “To feel animosity or hostility towards. To detest.  To feel dislike or distaste for.”  The word hateful is defined as, “Arousing hatred; detestable.  Feeling or showing hatred; malevolent.”

So if you consider yourself a good Christian, Muslim, or any other God like individual, you shouldn’t be posting or verbally promoting ideas that stir hatred in the hearts of others.  Teachers such as Jesus, Buddha and Muhammad were all about the love.  Love is the opposite of hate.  Love defined is an expression of one’s affection.  Excuse me for taking the simple minded approach to this subject, but there seems to be a major lack of love these days.

Take for instance the U.S. Presidential Election. I see more Facebook post that slam candidates than those that simply state their choice of which nominee they support.   You know, it is possible to promote your favorite Presidential Candidate without hating on another, right?

When we degrade another person, we disrespect ourselves.  All we end up doing is dividing ourselves from the whole; we stand outside the circle.  I don’t know about you, but I feel much better focusing on what it is that I love about someone, instead of focusing on what I dislike or hate about them.    There’s good and evil in all of us.  As the Native American story goes, there are two wolves battling each other inside of us all. One wolf is angry, envious, jealous, guilty, greedy, regretful, sorrowful, self-pity; the other wolf is joy, peace, love, hope, truth, compassion, faith.   The wolf or the side that wins is the side that you feed.  Do you feed the love within you, or do you feed the hate within you?

Personally, I like being loved. Not saying that I would bend or break for attention, but to be loved regardless of our differences.  I don’t really like it when people hate me, because it kind of deters me from wanting to live.  So imagine how your negative opinion of someone can offend another.  When you belittle a candidate, not only are you hating on that nominee, you hate on a favored representative of someone else.  And yes, they tend to take your opinion personally, because it fosters anger and hatred.  Don’t understand yet?  Then tell me how you feel when someone slams a candidate that you like?

People are people.  We all want the same basic human rights.  Treat others as you would want to be treated.  And here’s another – don’t have anything good to say, then don’t say anything at all.  Stop and think before allowing that thought to flow from head to hand, or from head to mouth.  If not to make the world a better place to live, then to make life a little easier for yourself.

The Law of Attraction is a concept of science, as well as new age thought.  As defined by Wikipedia, “a phrase used to describe the perceived nature of bodies that have a tendency to attract or repel each other.”

In other words, if show love, you attract love.  Talk hate, repel love.   So do yourself a favor that will benefit the rest of the world too, and recognize the hater within you.  Acknowledge it, change it, live it.  And may peace be with you.

HIGH CHOLESTEROL

Principal Therapy – blood purification.

Use a low protein, low fat, non-processed diet.  Fat is the worst enemy of the liver.  All heated fats should be avoided- no fried foods.  Avoid beer which supplies the body with carbohydrates which in turn produce fatty deposits.

Use sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and flaxseeds.  Suggested foods are bee pollen, green leafy vegetables, apples, all citrus fruits and juices, garlic, onions, pears, peaches, watermelon and its juice, sprouts, lemons, cabbage (red and green), spinach, dates and leeks.

Use the cleansing diet in this book for ten days and clean the bowels with an enema for five consecutive days.  Exercise daily to increase circulation.  Take one tablespoon of liquid chlorophyll in apple juice four times daily.

Short two day fasts every eight to ten days will remove fatty deposits quickly.  Use citrus juices or carrot, apple and spinach juices for this purpose.  Vegetable broths made from leeks, garlic and onions will purify the blood.  Remain on a vegetarian diet.

A.      Internal:  Take six hawthorn berry capsules and six chaparral capsules daily, alternating three every four hours.  The circulation is most important when the cholesterol is high.  Warm and cool alternating showers every morning followed with a brisk walk or jogging, is excellent.  Don’t evereat.  Prickly ash tea will improve our circulation (see also stimulants).  Siberian ginseng is used to reduce cholesterol.  Take two capsules three times a day between meals and first thing in the morning.  If they cause nervousness, reduce dosage.  Ginseng is not to be taken if there is inflammation, or fevers anywhere present in the body.

B.      Hydrotherapy:  Take cool, whole baths and warm and cool showers daily.

WORDS vs THOUGHTS

Someone left a comment on a Facebook post, which was in regards to a YouTube video of Nahko Bear’s, Black As Night, where the song says, “I am no master, I know nothing, but I am a servant and I know something.”  The person who left the comment did not like the word servant; he said I am no ones servant.  I commented back that I don’t think that’s what Nahko meant when he wrote this song.  Meaning, I am a servant to all that is living; I am a servant to the Earth; if I see someone in need, I offer my service to assist.

He said, all the same words are powerful and he didn’t like the song, because of that one word.  I gave him a thumb up, because yes it’s true that words are powerful.  But what’s even truer is the thought behind the word.

Take for instance when I call my dog a turd, I’m not saying she’s a worthless piece of shit.  I’m playing; being playful.  There’s nothing sinister at play here.  There is no negativity associated with the thought.  The dog isn’t offended.  Actually, she’s a real clown.  Very mischievous!  She loves to play.

If I call my wife an asshole, because she’s clowning around, she doesn’t get offended.  Now if I called her asshole out of anger because I didn’t agree with something she did, it would be a different story, she would be angry.

Recently a friend described me as someone who is into healing.  Healing is like a tree limb branching off from the trunk; it is only one aspect of mastering your own thoughts.   And that is what I’m into.  The human mind is a powerful instrument.  And it has been proven many times over that what you think and feel has a huge affect on your life.  Your health included.

This past summer I was a student learning how to separate my ego from my spirit.  I’m still learning of course.  Again, recognizing your ego is another branch of the tree to learning to master your thoughts.

Anyway, it seems to be working for me.  I’ve come a long way since I had that surgery back in December that turned my life upside down.  I’m happy again.  I feel I’m vibrating at a higher frequency.  All is good.  I love life!  Still, I know I wouldn’t be as happy today if I didn’t make that conscious effort to control my thoughts.  Life is a lesson, and I am a student, as well as a servant.

I ME MINE

This past Labor Day Weekend we had a party.  We live in Florida, did not put our swimming pool up this year due to some medical issues.  So to keep it cool, while we cookout and party outside, I came up with a game.  Everyone was asked to bring their squirt guns and water blasters to the party.   Next we had to come up with an idea to give people a reason to get wet.  So we thought of a word that is used often, and came up with the word, “I.” To make it even more interesting I added the words, “Me, mine and my,” to the list of forbidden words.

We had a blast!  Not only was it fun, but we all learned that these words are used quite often in our society.  Most indigenous societies do not know these words of possession.  They use words like we, us and ours.  They do not think in the singular, but instead their thoughts are in regards of the community as a whole.

So today we challenge you to make it your mission to replace these words of possession (I, me, mine, my), with the words that represent your household as a whole (we, us, ours).  Please feel free to leave comments.

OCEAN

Looking at the ocean is like viewing eternity.  It’s where the land meets the water, and the water meets the sky.  The four legged ones, the fish, and the winged ones join together at this intersection.  The ocean is ancient.  It has and always will be.  The air, it’s the same as you breathe – our breath becomes one.  You can feel her power as the waves breathe life into the air.  Cleansing all who stand before her in admiration.  Her song is as memorizing as the world she holds deep in secret, waiting to be shared by all.

She can be soft and smooth. I know she feels peace.  Wild and raging her emotions motivate me; moving and directing me like a grain of sand at her feet.  As I stand in the water, she kisses me with the white caps of her waves.  Pure and excepting she wipes away my troubles and comforts me.  Oh how I feel free!  Love pours from my heart and into the sea.  She is special.  She means everything to me.  This is my heaven, made by God for all to be.
